Description
Medium-density fiberboard, or MDF for short, consists of over 90% fine coniferous wood, graphite black dyed through here, which is compressed into a robust wood-based material with the help of binders. MDF is easy to handle, less expensive than other premium materials, and ideal for furniture construction. The durable melamine resin coating in white (similar to RAL 9016) provides a scratch-resistant surface that repels liquids and grease. The edges are broken and polished for a pleasant feel. The conifer wood comes from FSC®-certified forestry and thus stands for sustainable use of natural resources. Because MDF boards can bend, especially under heavy load, we recommend birch plywood for large furniture with long horizontal boards.
