Birch plywood
The favorite wood of our customers
When selecting our materials, we place the utmost importance on regionality, quality and sustainability. Our high-quality woods are extremely durable and comply with international environmental standards and European norms. Our premium material is laminated birch veneer lumber, often called multiplex. The characteristic feature of this wood material is its edge, which is created by cross-gluing individual layers of birch veneer. It's one of the best wood-based materials and brings many advantages. It is extremely strong, stable and durable. Yet it is extremely lightweight. Especially for larger furniture and for long horizontal boards without vertical stabilizers, we recommend birch plywood. The material is also useful in the bathroom or kitchen, as it is resistant to moisture. The edges are broken and sanded - with real wood veneers additionally oiled.
Classic - White, Black and Grey
Birch plywood is available at form.bar in various variants. Most popular with our customers are classic colors such as white, eco white, black, eco light gray and eco medium gray. Our birch plywoods, except for the real wood veneers, are coated with melamine resin. This makes the material water and friction resistant, so your furniture is optimally protected and you can enjoy it for a long time. The addition "eco" means that the surface of your material is slightly translucent. This means that the wood grain of the birch is visible through the resin coating, which gives your furniture a special naturalness.
Fancy colored - from red to mint
Birch plywood is available at form.bar in various variants. Most popular with our customers are classic colors such as white, eco white, black, eco light gray and eco medium gray. Our birch plywoods, except for the real wood veneers, are coated with melamine resin. This makes the material water and friction resistant, so your furniture is optimally protected and you can enjoy it for a long time. Fine real wood veneers
High quality real wood veneers of oak, beech, walnut or birch are perfect for creating an exclusive atmosphere in his home. The woods are cut in thin layers and glued to the birch plywood. This bypasses the disadvantages of working solid woods and still gives an outstanding look. The material is also oiled twice, which further enhances its beauty and quality.
Natural raw materials and their characteristics
Unique structures are preserved
The work with natural raw materials and the constant ambition to optimize resource-saving production, which at the same time meets the highest customer demands, are also reflected in the texture of the surfaces of the wood materials. For many different reasons, melamine resin is an ideal material for coating furniture made of birch wood, for example. The synthetic resin forms a scratch- and light-resistant as well as water-repellent surface. And the carrier material for the melamine resin is made from a recyclable raw material: paper. This paper insert is not only sustainable, but also brings out a natural characteristic - a subtle shimmering through of the grain of the laminated wood. At the same time, each veneer panel is unique in its structure, small knots and inlets are natural phenomena of this valuable material.
Medium density fibreboard
The favorite wood of our customers
MDF means "medium density fiberboard". It consists of small softwood fibers, mostly from pine and spruce, which are compressed with the aid of binders to form a hard-wearing wood-based material. MDF is not quite as robust and inherently stable as birch plywood, nevertheless a valuable and popular material. The great advantages are the easy processing possibilities as well as the favorable price. Thus, even a personal unique piece of furniture from a master carpenter becomes affordable. Because MDF boards can bend, especially under heavy load, we do not recommend them for very long horizontal boards. MDF is also not the ideal solution in the kitchen or bathroom. In principle, the material should not come into contact with water, as it can then swell if necessary. With MDF, the edges are also broken and sanded.
MDF in classic shades
We offer three different color variations for furniture made of MDF, from classic to modern. You can choose from a black surface with natural edge, a white surface with natural edge and a white surface with black edge.

The surfaces and finishes of our luxury decors are unparalleled. Choose from modern pastel shades, natural-looking wood decors or timeless classics in black and white. Pastel shades create harmonious, feel-good living environments. Natural wood decors with flowing textures lend furniture a sophisticated character. Black and white stand for purist aesthetics and timeless style. The base material of the fine decors consists of 45% recycled wood chips, is sustainable and ideal for furniture construction. The surfaces combine a pleasant tactile experience with long-lasting hardness. They are scratch-resistant, lightfast and water-repellent. High-quality plastic edges, precisely crafted by master carpenters, ensure optimum protection.

Wood is sustainable
Renewable raw material with good eco-balance helps protect the climate
Many aspects speak for the use of wood as a material. In addition to its material properties, such as the ease of processing and stability, wood is particularly sustainable and good for the climate, because wood stores carbon. Trees and forests are able to produce biomass and oxygen from CO2 and sunlight and permanently bind the CO2. Thus, the use of wood as a building material works against climate change. Moreover, no other raw material can be produced in such an environmentally friendly way. When used sustainably, wood is virtually inexhaustible, as it can be recycled several times and thus remains in a long material chain. In addition, wood grows again and again. However, the commercialization of wood as a raw material also harbors dangers. Tropical forests are particularly affected. Therefore, it is our duty to handle wood materials responsibly. At form.bar and our partner carpenters, we use only wood materials from FSC®-certified forestry for the production of your furniture. The most important goal of the "Forest Stewardship Council", founded in 1993 as a result of the Rio Earth Summit, is to ensure that the world's forests are used in an environmentally friendly, socially responsible and economically viable manner. The FSC is a non-governmental, non-profit organization. Its aim is to ensure that the needs of the present generation can be met without endangering those of future generations.

Since we work closely with numerous carpenters from different regions for the production of our malleable furniture, we have access to a wide variety of materials. Not all of these materials are included in our online assortment. Just ask us if you have a special material in mind for your unique piece of furniture.

L'équipe de la menuiserie Bücherl a été ponctuelle, travailleuse et très sympathique. Le montage par les Bücherl s'est déroulé sans encombre. On peut certainement trouver des produits standard à un prix nettement inférieur, mais certainement pas des pièces aussi superbes et sur mesure qui attirent autant l'œil. Excellent.
